Edward Ball
Edward Ball is a multi media fine artist, working in a contemporary medium. The unconventional materials in which he works provide unique pieces, which explore the possibilities of Plexiglas, household paints, industrial paints, enamel and acrylic combined with the traditional values of oil on canvas.
The inspirations behind Edwards work are music, paint, colour and movement. Best described as a Rhythmo-Kinetic style of painting he will work to music by existing musicians or produce his own musical soundscapes inspired by visual references.
Edward reacts to the music by using techniques such as throwing, dripping, pouring and squashing paint with flowing gestures to the sound and rhythm ofmusic. This is to give the work a cohesive sense of spontaneity, vibrancy and movement. The aim is for the work to become a physical depiction of the sounds and influences it is created to.
